Brian Laudrup insists Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent must take their last chance of grabbing another medal with Rangers in the Scottish Cup.
The Ibrox pair will likely feature for Michael Beale's side as they face off against Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
Both players are out of contract in the summer and remains to be seen where they will be playing their football next term.
On the duo's situation, Laudrup told the Daily Mail: "Memories or medals? When it comes to considering a player's legacy at a club, what's more important?
"With some smaller teams, of course, winning medals is almost impossible. It's all about fans having recollections of great performances or a player's consistency season after season. Trophies aren't necessarily part of it.
"At Rangers, it's obviously different. An expectation of picking up silverware is always present. It has to be, given the size of the club and its history of success. This brings me round to Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent. If the winger is passed fit, both could have a last shot at glory in Sunday's Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final.
"We don't yet know if they will be leaving Ibrox this summer as part of wider changes to the squad. But with no sign of either agreeing a new contract, it looks like a distinct possibility. If the end is indeed approaching, can they go out on a high? Do they still have it within them to summon one last push for success that will be remembered for years to come?
"I really hope so. It would be such a shame if their Rangers careers fizzled out on a trajectory of disappointment. Morelos and Kent have generated a lot of wonderful memories for Rangers fans. Let's not forget that. They have given great service over the years and been hugely important players. Medals, though, are a bit of a different story. They don't reflect the memories.
"Morelos has been at Rangers for six years, Kent five. Only two trophies have been won. It's not a lot at all. Sunday, then, is a precious opportunity to try and alter that picture.
"I remember the end of my time at Rangers back in 1998. We lost Ten in a Row and were then beaten by Hearts in the Scottish Cup final. We all knew Walter Smith was leaving. I knew I was leaving. So did a lot of the other players.
"All of us wanted to go out with some silverware, but we didn't make it. It's one of the big regrets from my time at Ibrox that we couldn't raise our game that season \u0097 to get the title or even the Scottish Cup in the end. The feeling wasn't good at all. That's why I know the importance of seizing a last chance.
"Looking back, though, the players then were able to see what we had achieved in the seasons before. A decent number of trophies. There was obviously some comfort in that.
"People say "show me your medals and I'll tell you if you were a good player". Is that fair? No, it's not. But it happens. Especially when you play for Rangers and you are compared to those who went before. As soon as you sign, you hear about the achievements of former greats and former teams.
"For sure, Morelos and Kent have been absolutely integral to some outstanding European nights for Rangers. Incredible occasions. And I do mean incredible. Morelos was phenomenal for a period in Europa League games. Almost a force of nature. Then you think about how Kent performed against Borussia Dortmund and others on the way to Seville last year. Fantastic memories.
"Over the piece, they have certainly done the club proud in the European arena. Absolutely no question about it. Other than the '55' season, however, they and others at Ibrox have not been able to produce the consistency needed in Scotland. One league title and one Scottish Cup. I think all involved will look back on that with regret, in terms of the trophies that got away."
