Barry Ferguson has named the two current Rangers players who must be part of Michael Beale's summer rebuild.
The former Gers skipper is adamant that his old side should endeavour to keep hold of Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield.
The midfield pair are out of contract this summer, with a high turnover of players expected at Ibrox.
And while Ferguson admits he knows not every Rangers fan will agree with him, the pundit reckons both can add value to Beale's squad for next term.
He wrote in the Daily Record: "Six months ago, most Rangers fans would have been crying out for Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent to be handed new deals. Not now.
"And I suspect neither will feature in tomorrow's final Old Firm clash of the season. Their time has come and gone.
"But there are two other players in that dressing room who are also out of contract and are, I believe, absolutely crucial to Michael Beale - and not only on the pitch.
"I'm talking about Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield. I know there will be some folk shaking their heads at that but hear me out.
"It isn't just a rebuild that's needed at Ibrox - it's major surgery. Michael knows that. That will mean a host of players coming to the club who might think they know the score.
"But until they walk through the doors at Ibrox, they won't have a clue what's about to hit them in terms of expectation, pressure, and intensity.
"There's nothing else like it in football - apart from across the city, perhaps. And while these new faces settle in and adapt to a new way of life, they are going to need people around them who know exactly what is needed to play for Rangers.

"Jack and Arfield fall into that category and if it were up to me, I'm keeping them - even if they don't play every week. Look, they are good enough to play for Rangers, there's no doubt about that.
"I'm not saying that out of sentiment. I honestly believe they've still got a part to play but off the field they can be massive influences.
"It might only be a one-year contract but it's important to keep guys around the club who know what it's all about. Jack does and it's the same with Arfield.
