Malik Tillman has rated his chances of staying at Rangers as 50-50.

The playmaker has spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Ibrox from Bayern Munich.

Rangers hold an option to buy the 20-year-old as part of that loan deal.

It remains to be seen whether Michael Beale and the club will trigger it, which will then cost Rangers £5million to buy the American on a permanent deal.

But ahead of face-to-face talks with Beale, Tillman insists his future hangs in the balance at the moment. 

He told Sky Sports: "I'm just extremely proud and happy. In Germany this is unusual, so I'm just glad that I got voted for and yeah, as I said, I'm extremely, extremely happy.

"It's a huge honour. The other nominees deserved it as well. I just have to keep going and doing the best I can.

"I'd hoped for a better ending but it's quite common in football to get injuries so I'm just unlucky to be one of them.

"I had a great time here and it might not be the end so we will see what's going to happen in the summer, I don't know.

"It's 50-50. It's up to Rangers, up to Bayern, and up to me so it's completely open.

"I'm going to speak to Michael Beale in the next couple of days and see what he's saying, see what Bayern are saying, and then I will decide."

Tillman was recently ruled out for the season with a hamstring injury. 

Upon sustaining that blow, Beale addressed a potential permanent deal for the player. 

He said: "It's a hugely sad ending to the season for him because he's obviously a fine young player and he has performed well for the club this season.

"Me and Malik are in a great place on a personal level, he has been brilliant for the club and brilliant for me.

"I think he has a really high ceiling, as high as any player I have worked with during my time at Rangers.

"There's areas of his game at 20 he needs to brush up on and that is why he has come on loan.

"We said we would park the conversation until the middle of May because there is a lot around it and Malik has got a say in that as well.

"The two clubs have been talking back and forth and there's agreements between them. But the most important person here is Malik.

"If Malik wants to be here in Glasgow that's something we can make happens. Likewise if he's unsure.

"The conversations between me and Malik are great, but we've said we will park it until the middle of May.

"Malik Tillman has been great for the club - if he wants to be here in Glasgow then that is something we would like to have further conversations on."
