Rangers have confirmed the departure of nine academy players following the end of season 2022/23.
Kai Kennedy, Tony Weston, Murray Miller, Kevin Ciubotaru, Charlie Lindsay, Lewis MacKinnon, Kelsey Ewen, Harley Ewen and Alex Kpakpe are all departing. The club insist that they'll offer "extensive support to all players leaving the Academy programme".
"As part of our player care programme, the club will work closely with the players to ensure they continue their football journey, providing regular check-ins and support," a statement confirmed.
Kennedy, most recently on loan at Falkirk made his debut in a Scottish Cup win over Stranraer in January 2020 alongside Nathan Patterson.
Weston, who arrived at the club as a 16-year-old from Blackpool in 2020, made one substitute appearance for the first-team on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign in a 3-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle.
“It is always a sad time of the year when we bid farewell to players who have made the journey through the Rangers Academy to B Team level," said B team manager David McCallum.
“It has been a privilege to witness the development of each individual, both as players and, most importantly, young men taking their first steps in a professional football environment.
“While it is always disappointing to leave a club like Rangers, I have no doubt each and every one of the lads departing for pastures new will forge a strong career in the game and we will continue to keep an eye out for them.”
