Scott Arfield has reportedly agreed a move to the MLS after his Rangers exit.

The Ibrox favourite left the club at the end of the season when his contract expired.

But he has now reportedly landed a two-year deal at American side Charlotte FC.

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge reports that Arfield has agreed a deal to head to the US.

And he claims that Arfield turned down offers from the Championship, instead favouring a switch Stateside.

Bridge reported on Twitter: "Scott Arfield agrees to join MLS side Charlotte FC.

"Arfield rejected offers from the Championship.

"Former Rangers midfielder expected to sign 2-year deal."

Arfield had revealed his ambition to continue his playing career after playing his final match at Ibrox.

The creative midfielder, 34, admitted he is still aiming to play until he is 40 - a dream he has held since he was a teenager.

And Arfield hinted at a possible return to Rangers in the future "in some capacity" in his final weeks at the club.

He told Sky Sports: "I don't know. I need to go an wait and see what comes up. I'm open to everything.

"I just want to be happy, I want to continue playing. I said when I was 16 years of age I wanted to try and play until 40, that's not changed.

"Until somebody tells me I'm not good enough or I get an injury that's going to keep me out I'm going to continue as long as I can.

"This is where I am at my happiest, when I am playing football and I am enjoying myself - long may it continue."

He added: "In 2018 I said that i wanted to come and win the 55th title for Rangers and I managed to do it. Amazing memories and hopefully I'll be back at this club in some capacity in the future, he said.

"I've had an amazing time and connection at this football club. I'm so lucky to be part of this and have scored some amazing goals in big moments and nobody can take that away from me.

"My kids can look back at it some day and think, 'Daddy did alright'."
