James Tavernier spoke to TNT Sports after Rangers were knocked out of the Champions League by PSV.

Here's everything that he had to say.

Reaction to a disappointing defeat?

It’s really raw and really hard to take. We knew how much it meant to the fans and the club, and the scoreline was really disappointing.

But it’s something we have to move quickly on from because we’ve got a really important league game at the weekend.

When you score three goals in the two legs, you’re hoping you’re in with a chance of getting through, but we conceded too many goals.

In the first half, we knew we should have done better. When we came out in the second half, we tried to get on the ball a lot more, but the goals we conceded were poor from ourselves and it’s obviously a tough one to take.

Disappointing to lose a goal straight after you scored?

De Jong came in for the free-kick, got the header and it went in. It put us on the back foot again, which doesn’t help. But we’ve got to quickly move on from it. We’re in the Europa League now so we’ve got to concentrate on that, but the most important thing is that at the weekend, before the international break, we’ve got to dust ourselves down, reflect and really be at it.

Is the Europa League a consolation?

We obviously wanted to be in the Champions League. The feeling that we had last year was an unbelievable feeling. It wasn’t to be, and it’s disappointing the manner in which we got beat.
