Philippe Clement has confirmed that Rangers have opened contract talks with midfielder John Lundstram.
The Englishman is out of contract in the summer of 2024, but it remains to be seen if he will extend his stay at Ibrox.
Lundstram played a key role today as Rangers defeated Aberdeen in the League Cup final and his manager Clement was keen to sing his praises at full-time.
He said: "He is important in many ways. He is someone who never hides. He always wants the ball.
"He understands the tactical study we want to do every game, he changes every game to try and find spaces.
"He is a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch. You need someone like that and I have several now. I am really happy about that.
"We have several players who take responsibility. I only need one word and they understand. They help the team in that way."
On his contract situation, Clement was asked if it is something he is thinking about. In response, he said: "Yeah, of course I am thinking about that.
"That is something for the next weeks, the next months for us to discuss.
"I spoke to him already about that, he knows what I feel, I know how he feels, that is for the next weeks and months."
