Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes is set to leave club after the Ibrox side accepted a bid from Turkish team Rizespor.

The Ecuador international joined the Ibrox side in the summer for a fee of £1.2 million from Los Angeles FC but has struggled to make an impact in Scotland.

And it is understood that Philippe Clement's men have agreed to a loan deal, with Rizespor having the option to buy him for a fee of around £2million in the summer.

The 24-year-old is expected to travel to Turkey imminently to complete the deal.

Cifuentes joined the club last summer under then manager Michael Beale and has played 20 times for the League Cup holders.

Other teams in Europe and South America also expressed an interest in the player.

Meanwhile, Clement expects Rangers to be "busy" until the end of the transfer window.

The Ibrox side have already signed two players this month with Fabio Silva arriving on loan from Wolves till the end of the season and Mohamed Diomande joining the club from Nordsjaelleand in Denmark.

Brazilian full back Jefte is also expected to arrive from Fluminense and Clement insists he is working closely with rector of football recruitment Nils Koppen, chief executive James Bisgrove and chairman John Bennett to make deals happen.

He told Sky Sports: "Yes because that’s my job and the job of every manager so we will be busy until the last second probably.

"It’s not just about me an Nils [Koppen]. It’s with a lot of people in the building. We make decisions together and work together.

"That was one of the reasons I came to Rangers - it’s really transparent and open. Everyone has their opinion and we say things behind closed doors and go out with one opinion."
