Former Brazilian international Neto mocked the physical condition of ex-Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos after his latest appearance for Santos.
Morelos was linked with a return to Europe this week to Turkey with Samsunspor in a loan move before their transfer deadline, but Santos turned down the offer.
He came on for the last 27 minutes of Santos' 1-0 midweek win over Corinthians but failed to break his scoring duck for Pele's old club who he joined in September.
However, Brazilian footballer turned pundit Neto - who was capped 16 times by his country and played for both Santos and Corinthians in his career - was decidedly unimpressed with the former Ibrox hero.
He said: "Look at the shape of him. He's not a player. He doesn't play football. That's not his profession. Look at him.
"Santos have paid him almost 1 million real [£143,000] in wages this season so far for a player like that? You have to be joking."
Morelos signed a new deal for Santos last week after agreeing to slash his wages and accept a goal bonus to make up the shortfall, although that has yet to be activated.
It comes as Morelos last night met his footballing idol after Santos' match.
The famous old club brought through global talents Pele and Neymar, with the former slightly more renowned for his time there.

However, Neymar is still very much celebrated by the fans of the Sao Paulo side and many others in Brazil, with the 32-year-old breaking Pele's goal-scoring record for the country in recent years.
He famously played for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, but last year, like many, took the next steps of his career in Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal.
Neymar was back supporting Santos for their game against Corinthians.
It was after the game that Morelos was able to meet him and pose for photos.
