Todd Cantwell has dealt Rangers another major injury blow.
The in-form attacking midfielder will be out of action for the next few weeks, according to Philippe Clement.
The former Norwich City attacker has been a pivotal part of Rangers' success in recent times where they've leapfrogged Celtic at the top of the Premiership.
However, the 25-year-old has suffered a hamstring injury. Clement says this will see him out for potentially up to a month.
The Belgian said: “Todd Cantwell will be out for a few weeks which is disappointing but that is football. Kemar Roofe has trained this week and he will be in the squad.”
So while it's bad news on Cantwell, it is positive for Roofe who could be back involved for the home match against Hearts on Saturday afternoon.
Rangers could move five points clear at the summit of the Premiership with a win against the third-place Jambos.
“We have already played Hearts several times - they are a quality team, they are well organised and have a prolific goalscorer," the 49-year-old added. "Shankland has secured a lot for Hearts but he is not the only focus because they have other good players.
“We never go into games thinking about one players. We focus on how we need to play and the philosophy is to focus on us. They are not afraid to pick their moments so we need to be dominant and break them down. What has given us a lot of energy is the fans at Ibrox - I expect a supporting crowd from the warm-up to the end of the game to push the team forward.”
