Mohamed Diomande is set for a spell on the sidelines - but not for long.
The Rangers midfielder had to undergo surgery this week following an incident in the weekend's 3-3 draw with Celtic.
Philippe Clement revealed the news this afternoon when speaking in his pre-match press conference for the Ross County encounter.
The Belgian did not reference how Diomande picked up the injury, but the good news for the Ibrox club is that the 22-year-old will return to first-team action soon.
The boss told the media: "Diomande had an operation on his thumb after a contact in the Old Firm match, he will be missing this weekend. It's not a long-term one."
Today was the first opportunity the 49-year-old has had to address Rangers' rearranged match with Dundee being called off - again.
Clement was stern in his response, as he told Dundee their excuses about the weather are not valid, especially when a local amateur side played last night and there are no issues with Dundee United's playing surface at Tannadice.
"It was a crazy situation because it was not a surprise," he told Sky Sports. "It could have been avoided with a faster decision to play at another venue. That should have been organised before to have a plan B and plan C.

"It's now postponed and I understand the frustrations of other teams (in the hunt for top six). A very strange situation.
"We cannot put the blame on the weather. In the same evening, a local team played in Dundee and the pitch of Dundee United is perfect. They play every week. So we cannot say it's because of the weather.
"We have no guarantee it will not rain next week. The last thing I hear is that we will hear on Tuesday at 12pm where we will play on Wednesday, but for sure it needs to certainly be played on Wednesday because we have an important Scottish Cup game on Sunday.
"Playing later than Wednesday would be crazy. It has already impacted our preparations for the semi-final. That is a disadvantage for us."
