Rangers cannot use their postponed game at Dundee as an excuse for their defeat to Ross County.
That's the viewpoint of former captain Barry Ferguson.
The Ibrox hero insists there's no way Philippe Clement can point to the call-off at Dens, for the second time in a matter of weeks, as a cop-out for his side's poor performance in the Highlands.
The 3-2 defeat to the relegation-threatened team has left Rangers four points off the pace at the top of the table with Celtic, albeit, they will play their game in hand against Dundee on Wednesday night.
Despite the midweek situation being difficult for Clement and his players, Ferguson says it's not a valid excuse for losing to County.
He told Go Radio: "No, I honestly don't. Listen, ideally, you prepare to play on Wednesday night and then it's cancelled because you obviously travel up on the Tuesday night.
"But that would have no bearing on the result on Sunday. I'm not taking that. It's not ideal but as a footballer you've got to deal with these circumstances.
"So I would not use that as an excuse for the defeat yesterday."

The pundit continued: "I think there's going to be changes if Rangers win the league or they don't. I think the manager will go to try and strengthen the team and the squad.
"But that depends on winning it, you've got the £40m. And if they don't win it I have not got a clue what type of money will be made available but I think he will go and try and strengthen.
"Not just the defensive side of it, I think he'll look all over the pitch. Whether that's a central midfielder, centre forward, a wide player. But certainly the defence is an area I think he'll look to strengthen."
