Rangers' forwards played like "strangers" during the first half against Dundee.

The Light Blues have the opportunity to go within a point of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race, but were held to a 0-0 stalemate at half-time.

Tony Docherty's hosts looked threatening on the break and even had a goal ruled out in the first minute for offside. 

On the other hand, Rangers, who started attacking trio; Fabio Silva, Abdallah Sima, and the lesser-spotted, Kemar Roofe, appeared toothless and failed to really test Dundee goalkeeper Jon McCracken. 

And discussing the opening 45 minutes, Celtic hero turned pundit, Chris Sutton, issued a scathing opinion of the Rangers front lines performance. 

"I think the issue in the first half is the lack of combination play and that lack of connection in the final third," he told Sky Sports. 

"It looks like the forward players for Rangers have been thrown together and they are strangers.

"I bet Philippe Clement at half-time would have been stressing that need for better understanding in the final third. 

"And Kris (Boyd) is right, they need to take a risk."
