Rangers are in advanced talks to strike a deal for defender Jose Cordoba as boss Philippe Clement seeks to strengthen his backline for his first full season in charge at Ibrox.
Cordoba has emerged as a prime target for Clement ahead of what could be another significant summer of ins and outs amid doubts over the futures of several first-team stars.
The Rangers Review understands that Cordoba was in attendance to watch Clement’s side keep their Premiership title dreams alive with a 4-1 victory over Kilmarnock on Sunday. Now Rangers will look to get a deal over the line as the 22-year-old prepares to leave Bulgarian outfit Levski Sofia ahead of the new campaign.
Cordoba, a Panamanian internationalist, made the move to Sofia two years ago and has also had stints with Etar and Celta Vigo. He is contracted to Levski until next summer.

Clement has decisions to make over the futures of Leon Balogun, who is out of contract at the end of the season, and fringe stoppers Ben Davies and Leon King. The Belgian has previously insisted that Connor Goldson will remain part of his plans going forward despite links of a reunion with Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia.
The summer window represents Clement’s chance to put his stamp on the squad that he inherited from Michael Beale in October and Nils Koppen, who was appointed as director of football recruitment earlier this year, will be a hugely influential figure over the course of the close season.
Reports in Central America have claimed Rangers will have to pay a fee of up to £3million to sign Cordoba this summer amid interest from Turkey and France in the centre half.
