Willie Collum has been called out over his "angry" exchanges with players during the derby encounter between Celtic and Rangers.

The experienced whistler was in charge for the crucial final league meeting between the clubs on Saturday.

And he had plenty of big calls to make at Celtic Park with a penalty decision and a red card call.

Collum awarded a spot-kick to Celtic for a foul on Matt O'Riley by Mohamed Diomande, the referee was advised to review the incident on the pitchside monitor but stuck by his call.

Then, Collum booked John Lundstram for a rash challenge on Alistair Johnston. After a review, Collum upgraded the decision to a red card.

But pundit Kenny Miller took issue with Collum's "angry" exchanges with players on top of any dispute over his decisions.

On Sky Sports, the co-commentator said: "Why is Willie Collum always so angry when he's talking to players? It's incredible.

"You can just talk to them. It's like he wants to fight the players."

The former Scotland striker was, though, left furious over the decision to send off Lundstram.

Miller slaughtered the decision as he insisted the challenge was "never" a red card.

"He's going to win the ball, Johnston plants his leg and he catches him," Miller said on commentary. "Every tackle like that cannot be a red card. 

"See in real time, that's never a red card. Never a red card. Now, looking at the still."

He continued: "You know what, the way the game is going now, that is not a red card. There's no way that's a red card. 

"Every kick can't be a red card. Alistair Johnston plants his foot in the way of where John Lundstram is going."
