Rangers have been linked with a transfer swoop for Chilean defender Thomas Galdames.

The 25-year-old has been tipped to make the move to Europe this summer and depart Argentinian club Godoy Cruz.

Reports in Chile claim Rangers feature among a number of clubs interested in striking a deal for the left-back.

It's claimed clubs in Belgian's top flight, the Jupiler Pro League, also have an active interest in Galdames.

Galdames is contracted with Godoy Cruz until December this year but it is expected he will depart the club for a fee before then.

And one journalist has even claimed Galdames will play his final match for Godoy Cruz tonight before sealing a transfer exit.

The defender has been called up by his national team for the Copa America provisional 55-man squad but will first play El Porvenir with his club side on Wednesday.

Journalist Juan Esteban Suraci reports Galdanes transfer exit abroad is "close to being finalised".

On X, formerly Twitter, he said: "It is practically a fact that Thomas Galdames will play his last game tomorrow with the Tomba shirt.

"The Chilean was summoned by the national team and the sale abroad is close to being finalized.

"Another loss for the team led by Daniel Oldrá."

Philippe Clement has already added one full-back this summer with Jefte signing a long-term deal at Rangers.
