Rangers are set to clinch the signing of Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane ahead of their return to pre-season training next week.

Boss Philippe Clement has targeted the 21-year-old to bolster his Ibrox attack this summer and Igamane is poised to put pen-to-paper and finalise a move to Glasgow. The Rangers Review understands a deal worth around £1.5million has been agreed with FAR Rabat for the forward, who registered seven goals and six assists in 23 appearances last term.

Igamane has been capped by his country at Under-23 level and is expected arrive in Scotland in the coming days to get down to business with Clement’s side. Rangers return to action at Auchenhowie on Monday and have friendly fixtures with Ajax, Manchester United, Birmingham City and Union Berlin on their schedule before the big kick-off this term.

The Rangers Review revealed on Tuesday evening that Aberdeen midfielder Connor Barron had agreed a switch to Ibrox despite strong interest from England and Italy.

Barron will sign a four-year deal with Rangers to follow Jefte, Oscar Cortes and Clinton Nsiala in joining up with Clement’s squad ahead of the new campaign. Rangers will pay a development fee to Aberdeen for the Scotland Under-21 international.

The capture of Barron is another significant boost for Clement as he continues to remodel the side that collapsed in the Premiership title race and lost the Scottish Cup final to Celtic last term. Rangers released five players – Jon McLaughlin, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe – at the end of the season and more high-profile exits are expected in the coming days.

The futures of skipper James Tavernier and vice-captain Connor Goldson have been the subject of sustained speculation in recent weeks amid interest from Saudi Arabia. Rangers could also look to offload the likes of Todd Cantwell, Tom Lawrence and Scott Wright, while Sam Lammers and Ianis Hagi will not be part of the plans following their respective loan spells last season.

The Rangers Review understands that Ridvan Yilmaz is not someone that Clement and Nils Koppen, the director of football recruitment, are looking to move on this summer. Yilmaz has attracted interest from Turkiye in recent months but is believed to be settled at Ibrox.
