UPDATE: Rangers have signed goalkeeper Liam Kelly on a two-year deal following his departure from Motherwell earlier this year.

The 28-year-old stopper returns to Ibrox having climbed the ranks of the club's youth academy before leaving for Livingston in 2018.

Speaking to the official Rangers website, Kelly said: "It is unbelievable to be back at Rangers, when I left, I probably never thought I would be back, but I am so delighted to be here.

"I know the size of the club, I spent 14 years here, so it is a great feeling, and I am looking forward to the new challenge.

"You always have faith in your own ability that you can play at the top level and this club is the highest level. I am joining a really talented group of players and a really talented group of goalkeepers, so I am excited."

Original story follows.

Original story: Liam Kelly is set to clinch a return to Rangers and become the next man to join Philippe Clement's squad ahead of the new campaign.

The Rangers Review has reported in recent weeks that Kelly was edging closer to a deal at Ibrox as Clement continues to reshape his squad. And it is understood that Kelly has now completed his medical at Ibrox as he prepares to put pen-to-paper on a deal with the Light Blues.

Clement has added four players - Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala and Connor Barron - to his ranks so far this summer. Now Kelly will return to the club where he started his career in the Auchenhowie youth ranks. As the Rangers Review revealed last week, striker Hamza Igamane is also set to complete his switch to Glasgow.

The former Motherwell captain, who has also had spells with the likes of Livingston and Queen's Park Rangers, was part of the Scotland squad for the European Championship this summer. Kelly did not feature for Steve Clarke's side in Germany and he will now turn his attentions to domestic and European matters at Ibrox.

Kelly will provide back-up for number one Jack Butland this term as Clement shuffles his pack between the sticks. Jon McLaughlin was released at the end of his contract and Robby McCrorie will depart in search of first team football next term.

The Rangers Review understands a fee in the region of £500,000 will be required to take McCrorie away from Ibrox. There is interest in the keeper from a number of Premiership clubs and he could also have offers from England.

Rangers confirmed this week that Mason Munn had agreed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2028. Munn was a regular for the B Team last season and helped Steven Smith's side win the Scottish Youth Cup with victory over Aberdeen.

“We are delighted that Mason has committed his future to Rangers," Clement said. “It is recognition of his development in the Academy in recent years, and, as a boyhood Rangers fan, he is well aware of what it takes to represent this club.

“There is further improvement to come from Mason in the years ahead and we look forward to his continued development as an individual.”
