Derek McInnes has bolstered his Kilmarnock squad with the addition of Robby McCrorie from Rangers on a two-year deal.

McCrorie came through the Rangers youth academy and earned his senior debut in a Europa League clash against Alashkert three years ago. 

The 26-year-old goalkeeper was made to be patient for regular game time at the Scottish Premiership giants and he told the club that he would like to leave this summer in search of regular football.

He amassed just seven Rangers first team appearances since August 2021 - finding himself behind Allan McGregor and then Jack Butland - and will now get the opportunity to compete for the No.1 jersey at Kilmarnock.

The former Scotland Under-21 shot-stopper becomes the second new arrival to the Rugby Park side following the addition of striker Bruce Anderson. 

A club announcement read: "Kilmarnock Football Club are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Robby McCrorie, who has joined from Rangers for an undisclosed fee.

"Robby joins us at Rugby Park on a two-year contract. The 26-year-old Ayrshire native established himself as a key part of Rangers youth system, with successful loan stints at Berwick Rangers, Greenock Morton, Queen of the South and Livingston.

Rangers broke the departure on their social media accounts and commented stating "Robby leaves Rangers with the best wishes of everyone at Ibrox and Rangers Training Centre."
