Kenny MacIntyre was forced to apologise to BBC Sportsound listeners on the first Saturday of the new Scottish football season because of a comment made by pundit and ex-Heart of Midlothian star Michael Stewart.
Stewart suggested Rangers' Todd Cantwell, who has been demoted to the club's 'B' team after handing in a transfer request, "could be a bit of a prick" prior to the Light Blues' William Hill Premiership opener against Hearts at Tynecastle Park.
Instantly host MacIntyre felt compelled to issue an apology for his colleagues remarks.
"Don't repeat what Michael said, but we know what you meant," he stated before trying to continue the pre-match build-up.
Although Stewart, in his usual fiery on-air demeanour, argued back to defend himself by saying, "There is nothing wrong with that Kenny, surely?".

MacIntyre then took the opportunity to extend a further acknowledgement of the incident during the half-time break of the live broadcast.
"You’re listening to Sportsound on the opening weekend of the league season, goalless at Tynecastle, we want to apologise for any offence caused by language in the pre-match chat that was before kick-off," he said.
