Former Rangers defender Connor Goldson looks set to miss the start of the season with his new club in Cyprus after picking up a knee injury.
The 31-year-old stopper made the surprising transfer to Aris Limassol in a £1.5 million move at the end of last month after six years and 309 appearances for Rangers.
But he's suffered a disappointing start to his new career on the Mediterranean island after injuring a knee in training as Aris prepare for the start of their domestic season.
He's now facing a race against time to be fit for the season opener against Karmiotissa in a fortnight.
Aris sports director Costas Papadopoulos said: "Connor Goldson collided with an opponent in a friendly match and hurt his knee which has swollen up.
"It is now expected he will be missing for two weeks."
Aris finished in fourth place last season and are desperate to launch a title challenge this term after winning the league the previous season.
