Rangers will kick off their Europa League campaign with a trip to face Malmo next month.
Philippe Clement’s side lost to Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League third qualifying round as they were consigned to the secondary competition this term. The draw for the new league phase was made on Friday.
Rangers face Malmo on Thursday, September 26 before hosting Lyon and Steaua Bucharest. Trips to Olympiakos and Nice follow in November before the glamour tie with Tottenham Hotspur on December 12 at Ibrox.
The final matches in the campaign see Rangers head to Old Trafford and then host former European foes Union Saint-Gilloise. The final fixture at Ibrox kicks-off at 8pm as Clement’s side look to progress to the next round of the new-look competition.
“We are excited by the draw and it will bring us some good tests,” midfielder Tom Lawrence said as he assesses the challenges that Rangers will face in the Europa League.
“They are all good teams, that’s why they are in the competition, but European games are ones to look forward to.
“I have been a Manchester United fan since I was a young boy, so it is nice to come up against them.
”But I have played against them for other clubs before, so it isn’t a new experience for me going up against them. It is always exciting going back to the club you support.
“When I think back on my time at Manchester United I have loads of great memories and they paved the way for my career.
“The day I made my debut for them against Hull City was an unbelievable moment for me. I am looking forward to going back to Old Trafford and this is a test in the group we are looking forward to.”
