Todd Cantwell has been tipped to thrive in a 'happy environment' at Blackburn following his move from Rangers.
The playmaker was identified as Rovers' 'number one target' this summer when it became clear he'd be leaving Ibrox, insists boss John Eustace.
Philippe Clement confirmed in mid-July that the midfielder wanted to leave the Scottish Premiership side.
He left Rangers on deadline day in a £500,000 switch to the Championship.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Eustace said: "Todd was the number one target for the club and they brought him in which was great.
"Hopefully, he can establish himself again as a top Championship player. We will give him the environment to do that. Everyone is happy he is here.
"I think the club has brought in the players they wanted to bring in, which is great. They are all good characters. They all have a point to prove so I'm sure they will all be good additions to what we already have got. I'm happy with the balance.
"We have more competition for places, we need that in all areas. They can help the squad. There are no egos, whoever is playing, they will be together and we can make changes. That's what it's about if we're going to be successful in the league."

Meanwhile, Rangers have confirmed the date for their long-awaited return to Ibrox.
The Glasgow giants have announced they will be back playing on home turf for the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final tie against Dundee on Saturday, September 21.
However, while they will be back at Ibrox, they will take on their fellow Scottish Premiership side with only three stands available to fans.
That's because the final works will still need to be concluded to the Copland Stand.
