Antonio Colak has outlined the three key reasons Rangers are a bigger club than Malmo - ahead of the Europa League tie between the clubs.

The former Ibrox striker knows both clubs inside out having spent time in both Glasgow and with the Swedish side.

In fact, Colak's transfer switch to Rangers, in 2022, came after scoring a double for Malmo against the Ibrox club in Champions League qualifying.

However, despite Malmo having the better of the recent results between the two sides, Colak has insisted Rangers are a bigger club due to their huge fanbase, standing in Glasgow and the media pressure on the club.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, he said: "It's difficult because both have their charm.

"Both sets of supporters are very fanatical, love their club and fill their home arena.

"Of course, Rangers are still a bit bigger in terms of number of supporters, size of the city and media pressure."

The 31-year-old - now at Serie B side Spezia - added: "But regarding the passion for the club, Malmö is quite close to Rangers.

"I have both in my heart and follow them, and am always happy when they win titles."

On his departure from Rangers, Colak said previously: “When I left Rangers and watched the highlight reel of my goals the club made, I was really emotional watching it with my wife.

“When I arrived in Glasgow, I thought it could be the place I stayed for the rest of my career. But in football sometimes things are unpredictable.

"Of course, there was a moment where I was disappointed and said ‘I don’t want to leave’ but now I’m here in Parma having taken a new opportunity and life could not be better for me personally.

“My time at Rangers, however, it’s really, really unique.”
