Ianis Hagi received a rousing reception as he returned to Rangers action this evening.

The Romanian internationalist was named in the Rangers squad against St Johnstone after his stand-off with the club was resolved.

Hagi had been out of contention over a contract clause and was training with the B team after failing to secure a transfer switch in the summer.

However, a solution was found between both parties with Hagi reinstated to the Ibrox first-team during the week, albeit missing out against Lyon due to being unregistered for the Europa League.

Hagi, though, was back in the side to face St Johnstone as he was named on the bench for the Scottish Premiership fixture.

In the first half, supporters showed their backing for the midfielder as he was applauded as he went to warm-up along the sidelines.

And before kick-off in the second half, Hagi received a warm ovation from supporters as he came on.

The playmaker replaced Ross McCausland with Connor Barron also coming on as Mohamed Diomande was withdrawn.

Hagi's last appearance for Rangers came in August last season with the 25-year-old then sent on loan to Alaves.
