ALLAN McGREGOR: He and Goldson were caught ball watching as Woolery fired the ball across the face for Roberts to tap into an empty net. He was beaten far too easily at his near post for Motherwell’s equaliser after a defensive calamity. The 40-year-old really should have done better given the shot went almost straight through him. He was enraged by Efford’s sliding tackle on Goldson on 28 minutes, as he raced out his goal to make his feelings known. 5

JAMES TAVERNIER: Denied the opening goal when his curling effort from the edge of the box was tipped away by the outstretched Kelly. Seconds later he delivered a pin-point cross onto the head of Lundstram but he failed to hit the target. Forced a near-post save out of Kelly four minutes after the restart with an angled drive. All over the place for Motherwell’s equaliser on 76 minutes, he and Goldson failed to deal with Woolery who rifled past McGregor. 6

CONNOR GOLDSON: Was taken out by a dangerous challenge from Efford in the first half who received a yellow card for doing so with the former Brighton man needing treatment. Caught ball-watching for Motherwell’s opener as Roberts tapped in from close range. Never covered himself in glory for the Steelmen’s equaliser, he and Tavernier caught in a fankle and Woolery took advantage. Had a glorious chance to put Rangers 3-2 up but his shot lacked conviction and straight at Kelly. 6

JOHN LUNDSTRAM: Started alongside Goldson at the heart of the Rangers defence and looked calm and assured in the first half. Should’ve headed home on eight minutes when picked out by Tavernier but nodded wide. 10 minutes later the former Sheffield United man was unlucky after firing towards the top corner with his left foot from the edge of the area before Kelly got a hand to it. Was outpaced by Woolery for Motherwell’s opener as he powered down Rangers’ left side before firing across goal for Roberts to tap into an empty net. 6

CALVIN BASSEY: Another decent showing from the 22-year-old at left-back. Combined well with Aribo and Kent down the left side and delivered a teasing cross into the danger area on 41 minutes that was cleared away for a corner. Tremendous tracking back when Roberts was through on goal in stoppage time. 7

GLEN KAMARA: Back in the side in place of Ryan Jack and was his usual efficient self in the main. In saying that, he needs to work on his finishing. The Finn blazed two shots over the bar in the first half from the edge of the penalty area, time for Roy Makaay to have a word. 6

SCOTT ARFIELD: Industrious as ever, involved in a lot of Rangers’ play going forward. Fired a shot wide with the outside of the boot from a Sakala lay-off five minutes before half-time. Had a great chance to make it 3-2 but failed to take it in front of goal. 6

JOE ARIBO: Decent enough performance from the Nigerian, combined well with Bassey and Kent at times but lacked a killer instinct in the final third as Rangers were desperate for a winner. 6

RYAN KENT: Impressive first-half showing. Two assists in quick succession in the first half, for Morelos’ opener, he whipped in a pin-point cross onto the head of the Colombian. Assist number two came just moments later, this time teeing up for Sakala to blast past Kelly. Powered a drive on goal from a well-worked corner on 74 minutes only for Kelly to parry. 7

FASHION SAKALA: Started on the right-hand side of the front three and was lively from the off. Good driving run and ball across in the opening minute, won a corner with another positive run shortly after. Delivered a teasing ball across goal on 15 minutes but there were no takers. Brilliant finish for Rangers’ second moments after the opener as the Zambian rifled home from Kent’s ball across goal. Gave the ball away on a few occasions and was guilty of taking the wrong option on the ball in the final third in the second half. Replaced by Roofe on 83 minutes. 7

ALFREDO MORELOS: Unlucky not to open the scoring 90 seconds in when he lofted the ball over Kelly before cannoning off the crossbar. Terrific header to break the deadlock that nestled into the bottom corner from a whipped-in cross from Kent. Thought he had restored Rangers’ two-goal advantage with a well-placed header only to be ruled out for offside, his protestations led to a yellow card. Had the ball in the back of the net once more on 67 minutes, again flagged offside. 7
