Ronald Waterreus: Made a fine save on six minutes after a low shot from Ricardo Quaresma. Tipped a brilliant 30 yard Figo free-kick over the bar. Was called into action again to parry another shot from Quaresma wide after a solid low drive. He topped things off with a terrific save from a low shot with his feet by Figo. He kept his team in it with an excellent display. 9
Alan Hutton: Given a torrid time by Quaresma, who is still playing at the top level. This wasn’t helped by the World XI’s clear strategy of ‘Get the ball to Quaresma’. Grew into the game as it went on and came close to matching his famous mazy Aston Villa goal with a penetrating run but couldn’t find the finish. Was at fault for Nuno Gomes’ strike when he allowed the striker too much space. 6
Gregory Vignal: Tried to get forward down the left flank but had a lot of defending to do against the marauding Figo and Quaresma. Subbed off for Moore after 35 minutes. 6
Marvin Andrews: Terrific last ditch tackle to deny Makaay. Found himself isolated against Quaresma but kept finding a way to get a toe in. Nearly turned the ball into his own net in the second half after a terrific Florent Malouda cross. Managed to get in one incredible trademark header that was cleared further than most of us can kick a ball. A great showing. 8
Sasa Papac: Still looks like he could play at a decent level and has barely put on a pound since his heyday. A terrific low sliding tackle to win the ball from Figo just as he was about to pull the trigger. Moved to left-back when Moore entered the fray. Unfussy and as effective ever. Loses a mark for failing to stop Marchena for the equaliser but had a great game. 8
Gio van Bronckhorst: Looked in good condition as he roamed about the midfield. Put in a cruncher on Salgado on 12 minutes that had the crowd wincing. Had the fans on their feet with a lovely bit of keepy-uppie before finding Boyd with an incisive pass. Prodded and probed in midfield throughout.7
Jorg Albertz: He’s still got no pace but the big German’s wand of a left foot hasn’t diminished. Let fly from 25 yards after four minutes much to the crowd’s great delight. 7
Barry Ferguson: Snapped into Hagi’s ankles early doors to win the ball and release Albertz down the flank. Burst forward from midfield brilliantly but couldn’t find the pass to release Boyd. 7

Shota Arveladze: Fair to say the Georgian has lost a yard of sharpness and pace in retirement. He hasn’t lost his ability to find the net though as his brilliant diving header flew into the top corner past Lehmann. 7
Ronald de Boer: Lucky not to give away a penalty for what looked like a block on Quaresma. Sensational cross from the right to find Arveladze for the opening goal. 6
Kris Boyd: Had the ball in the back of the net after eight minutes with a sharp finish but was correctly ruled offside. Was found by Albertz with enough time for a volley but Jens Lehman was down sharpish to stop the angled drive. 6
Substitutes
Neil Alexander: Brilliant low save from a close range Figo effort. Had no chance with the goals. 6
Craig Moore: A clean but thumping tackle on Figo brought the crowd to their feet. 6
Nacho Novo: Looked lively and full of running from the off after being introduced at half-time. Did well in a big man, wee man partnership with Jelavic. Missed the best chance of the second half but was dangerous. 6
Alex Rae: Knocked the ball about well and got stuck into the action. 6
Rod Wallace: Started on the left-flank and worked hard to find space during his 15-minute cameo. 6
Pedro Mendes: Strutted about the midfield with his usual authority, clipping passes around and showing he’s still an excellent passer. 6
Neil McCann: Found Nacho Novo with a brilliant ball after wriggling clear on the touchline but the striker couldn’t control in time. Another teasing ball was an inch away from Mols’ head. While he’s obviously not as quick as in days gone by, his left foot looks as trusty as ever. 7
Paul Gascoigne: The ground shook as the old favourite took to the pitch with five minutes left. The Geordie lapped it up as 'only one Paul Gascoigne' rang out around Ibrox. And the legendary England midfielder got a goal moments later when his low shot hit the net much to the delight of the crowd. 8
Niko Jelavic: The big Croat is more of a unit than when elegantly strutting his stuff under Walter Smith in the early 2010s. He is still possessing of a great first touch and held the ball up well. 6
Michael Mols: Got a huge roar from the crowd but didn’t get a lot of service as the World XI turned the screw and showed their class. 6
