Allan McGregor: Rooted to the spot as Carmo glanced a header into the corner but had relatively little to do other than pick the ball out the back of the net. 7

James Tavernier: The Rangers skipper lives for these big European nights and, once again, he produced a sensational performance from start to finish. He sent Ibrox bananas with his early opener when he slid in at the back post to fire Rangers ahead on the night from the tightest of angles. Braga struggled to contain him as he took up a far more advanced position than he did in the first leg. Great ball into Roofe on 29 minutes but Oliveira did well to nod behind for a corner. He displayed nerves of steel to convert the penalty just before the break, slotting the ball down the middle as Matheus dived to the right. 9

Connor Goldson: Caught napping for Braga’s goal on 82 minutes when Carmo stole a yard on him to glance a header past McGregor. That aside, it was a solid and commanding showing from the 29-year-old although he was rarely troubled such was Rangers' dominance. Struck the woodwork from a Tavernier free-kick but the offside flag was raised in any case. Caught by a flying elbow from Oliveira that sparked a melee on 71 minutes. Headed a Kent cross wide with the last action of the 90 minutes. Poor pass forward in the first minute of extra-time that flew straight out of play for a goal kick. 8

Calvin Bassey: Preferred to Leon Balogun at the heart of the Rangers defence and put in another magnificent shift. He did give the ball away cheaply on 10 minutes but recovered to steal the ball off Abel Ruiz. Put Lundstram in a spot of bother with a dangerous pass on 21 minutes but fortunately, Braga weren’t able to capitalise. Unbelievable pass to pick out Roofe before he was upended by Tormena who received a straight red. Delivered a similar defence-splitting pass that picked out Ramsey four minutes into the second half but the Welshman couldn’t bring the ball down under control. Won a free kick in a promising position with a positive run forward when he was clipped by Oliveira on 62 minutes. Switched to left-back when Balogun replaced Barisic late on. 8

Borna Barisic: The Croatian showed just why he was brought back into the side with, arguably, his best performance in a blue jersey. His deliveries into the box were exquisite and the delivery that led to Tavernier’s opener inside the first two minutes was pinpoint. Just four minutes later he delivered the cross onto the head of Roofe to nod home before the goal was ruled out by VAR for the slightest of handballs by Barisic in the build-up. Delivered another beauty of a cross on 21 minutes but Rangers weren’t able to take advantage. He won several aerial balls and was involved in everything going down the left hand side before being substituted for Balogun on the 90-minute mark. 9

Ryan Jack: Ran the show alongside Lundstram although he was guilty of playing a poorly weighted pass to Ramsey that was intercepted and ended with a Braga shot on goal, fortunately, it was fired over the crossbar. Great pass to Kent to set up a breakaway in the first half. Kept the tempo up, keeping things simple and moving before being replaced by Kamara. 7

John Lundstram: Another powerhouse display from the Scouser. Dictated play and was dominant for much of the match as Rangers blew away Braga for the most part. Great interception on Rodrigo Gomes who was looking to break nine minutes in as Braga tried to get themselves out and up the pitch. His energy to drive forward in the second half of extra time summed up his performance. 9

Joe Aribo: The Nigerian twinkle-toes is back. A sublime display, often taking the ball in tight areas and setting up moves or winning free-kicks. Sent over a vicious ball on 14 minutes but no takers before appearing on the opposite flank and playing a neat give and go with Tavernier, his square ball into the box ended with an effort wide of the post. Saw two attempted efforts blocked on the half-hour mark when he found himself in a bit of space in the penalty area. Did well to glance a header across goal from a Barisic corner to Roofe but he struck the underside of the bar from close range. Did so again just moments later, this time from a Tavernier corner but there were no takers at the back post. Played Roofe in at the start of the second half. Almost started and finished a terrific move but he curled his left-footed shot wide when Kent was in a better position. Wonderful vision to pick out Roofe to fire Rangers 3-1 ahead in extra time. Replaced by Arfield for the second half of extra time. 9

Aaron Ramsey: Industrious performance from the Welshman who was brought to the club to play in big nights like this. Involved in much of Rangers play going forward. He blazed a shot over the bar on 19 minutes after linking up well with Aribo before sending over a great cross into Kent who’s header was saved by Matheus. His intelligent run through the heart of the Braga defence led to Roofe receiving Bassey’s pass before he was taken out by Tormena. Connected with another inviting Barisic cross on 65 minutes but just couldn’t keep his header down. Had the ball in the net but collided with Matheus in the process and a free-kick was given before he was removed for Wright. 8

Kemar Roofe: Alfredo who? A brilliant centre forward’s performance from Roofe. Thought he had put Rangers ahead when he connected to Barisic’s cross to nod home and blow the roof off Ibrox before the goal was harshly ruled out by VAR. Missed a glorious chance from a Barisic corner when he struck the underside of the bar from close range with the goal gaping before dragging a shot wide on 37 minutes. Won Rangers a penalty just before half time when he was bundled over by Tormena after being picked out by Bassey. Played in almost immediately at the start of second half but couldn’t get the shot away. Cruelly flagged for offside on 69 minutes when he found himself through on goal before dinking the ball over Matheus. Harshly booked for catching Matheus when stretching for the ball. Finally got his well-deserved goal in the first half of extra time when he tapped in from close range from Aribo’s ball across goal. Replaced by Sakala for the second half of extra time. 9

Ryan Kent: Lively start and caused Braga all sorts of problems down the left-hand flank. Forced a save out of Matheus when he connected with a Ramsey cross. Great strength and determination to win the ball back near the halfway line before setting up an attack on 51 minutes. Had Oliveira and Fabiano on toast at times. Poor execution when the ball broke out to him on the edge of the area on 98 minutes but fired well wide. Set up Arfield to finish the tie but he failed. 9

Substitutes

Glen Kamara: Replaced Jack on 79 minutes but looked nervous at times. That being said, he made a terrific interception when Vitor Oliveira was looking to pull the trigger deep into stoppage time. Had a big role in Roofe’s goal in extra time, he did well to pick up the ball on the right-hand side before slipping in Aribo to fire the ball across the face of goal for Roofe. 7

Scott Wright: Replaced Ramsey on 79 minutes and gave Rangers an injection of energy down the right hand side although his balls into the box rarely found a blue jersey. 6

Leon Balogun: Replaced the impressive Barisic on the 90-minute mark and slotted in beside Goldson. Was commanding and composed. 6

Fashion Sakala: Replaced Roofe for the second half of extra time and looked lively from the off, set up Kent to lay the ball on a plate for Arfield before his shot shortly after fell into the path of Arfield but again he failed to capitalise. 6

Scott Arfield: Replaced Aribo for the second half of extra time. Fluffed his lines when laid off by Kent to kill the tie and just seconds later struck the bar with the goal at his mercy. 3
