Allan McGregor: Produced an acrobatic save to deny a Youan strike in the opening stages but the resultant corner was headed in unchallenged by Ryan Porteous. No chance with Nisbet’s goal immediately after Sakala’s equaliser. Big stop to deny Youan with his feet just before the break. Was a virtual spectator in the second half. 7
James Tavernier: Gave the ball away carelessly that led to Hibs’ second goal immediately after Sakala had equalised. His deliveries into the box weren’t the greatest with most being won by a player in a green and white jersey, that was until his corner for Jack’s goal was met by the head of Tillman at the front post. Also played a perfectly-weighted pass to Tillman in the lead-up to Morelos’ goal. 7
John Lundstram: Deployed at centre-back given the omission of Leon King from the squad but looked very uncomfortable from the off. Never covered himself in glory for Hibs’ opener and was caught napping for the second just 53 seconds after Sakala’s equaliser. Gave away a needless corner moments later. Pinged several diagonals with varying degrees of success. Took a sore one from Youan at the start of the second half but soldiered on. Improved as the match wore on although Hibs offered next to nothing going forward in the second half. 6

James Sands: Looked every inch a midfielder at centre-back in what was a shambolic first half defensively. Caught out with Hibs’ second goal as a through ball saw Nisbet nip in and lift the ball past McGregor. The American simply lacks the physicality and aerial prowess to be a dominant centre-back. Rarely tested in the second 45 as Rangers dominated large parts. 6
Adam Devine: Stood up well against Cadden and looked calm and composed when in possession. Often found in attacking areas as he looked to assist the forward line. Delivered a fantastic cross onto the head of Sakala on 54 minutes but his header was saved by Marshall. An assured showing from the teenager and no surprise to be named as the sponsors Man of the Match. 7
Ryan Jack: Sat in front of the makeshift defence for the most part. Fired a shot well wide in first-half stoppage time that summed up what was a frustrating and out-of-sorts first 45 from Rangers. Showed great striking instinct to bundle home Rangers’ second equaliser after connecting with a Tillman flick-on from a Tavernier corner. 7
Glen Kamara: The Finn was much like his old self as the match wore on. Involved in much of Rangers play in an attacking sense with Jack sitting deeper. There was a willingness and eagerness to get involved which was refreshing to see. 7
Malik Tillman: Another impressive display from the young American. Like many, he had an unconvincing start. He was caught unawares as Poteous nodded Hibs in front from a corner. Took a sore one from a collision with Porteous shortly after as the Hibs man fired a shot at goal. Involved in much of Rangers’ play going forward, winning a number of duels. His Joe Aribo-esque flick-on header from Tavernier’s corner for Jack’s goal was a thing of beauty and something Rangers have badly missed since the departure of the Nigerian. Outrageous feet to set up Morelos for goal number three. Two assists represents a decent night’s work. 8
Ryan Kent: Looked lively from the off and found himself in little pockets of space all over the pitch which caused Hibs problems. Laid off Sakala for his short-lived equaliser. Ran the Hibs defence ragged in the second half with his quick feet proving too much. 7
Fashion Sakala: Perhaps a surprise inclusion in the starting XI but understandable given Colak was unavailable and rifled Rangers level on 15 minutes with a terrific left-foot finish into the corner past the despairing Marshall. As ever, the Zambian was always looking to be positive and ask questions of the Hibs defence. Unlucky not to equalise for a second time 10 minutes into the second half when his header was saved by Marshall. Replaced by Davis on 65 minutes. 7
Alfredo Morelos: After a frustrating first-half showing the Colombian blew the roof off Ibrox when he slotted home from close range to put Rangers ahead for the first time on the night in what would turn out to be the winner. Oh how we’ve missed an El Bufalo knee slide, let’s hope there is more of that to come in the games ahead. He has some way to go to get back to the player that made the Rangers fans fall in love with him but tonight is certainly a start. Fired a decent shot at goal on 75 minutes but it was down the throat of Marshall. 7
Substitutes
Steven Davis: Replaced Sakala midway through the second half to solidify the midfield and was his composed and assured self although he received a caution late on for a mistimed challenge. 4
Scott Wright: Introduced for the closing stages. 2
Scott Arfield: Came on for the final few minutes. 2
Ben Davies: A late substitute for the impressive Devine. 2
Rabbi Matondo: Replaced Morelos in stoppage time. 1
