Allan McGregor: Called into action on 21 minutes to palm a Jota strike away. Rooted to the spot as Kyogo tapped in the opener from close range and likewise when the Japanese doubled Celtic’s lead with an almost carbon copy of his first half goal. Made a big save from Haksabanovic late on to keep Rangers in the game. Denied O'Riley in the final seconds. 6
James Tavernier: Superbly-weighted pass in behind to Sakala midway through the first half to set up a corner. Was coping with the threat of Maeda and, at times, Jota up until the ball was whipped in for Celtic's opener. Could've had an assist when he squared the ball for Tillman at the back post only for Carter-Vickers to clear. At fault for Celtic’s second when he gave the ball away needlessly which led to the move that ended with Kyogo sliding in for 2-0. Picked out Morelos with a well-taken free kick to reduce the deficit. 5
Connor Goldson: Won his fair share of aerial balls but was guilty of giving the ball away in the first half. Nowhere to be seen for Celtic’s opener. 6
Ben Davies: Good clearance from an early Celtic ball into the six-yard box and looked relatively composed and assured for much of the game. Caught flat-footed for Kyogo's opener. 6
Borna Barisic: Caught on his heels for the two Celtic goals but the Croatian wasn’t primarily to blame with errors being made in the lead-up to both. Geed the crowd up at the start of the second half after winning a corner following a neat move with Kent. 5
Glen Kamara: A pretty anonymous showing from the Finn who, alongside Lundstram, struggled to exert any control in the middle of the park. Booked for catching Hatate. One of three subs immediately after Morelos reduced the deficit. 4
John Lundstram: A poor performance from the Scouser who looked a yard off the pace and lost out in almost all his duels. He was often slow and cumbersome in possession. He did play a neat give-and-go with Kamara that culminated in Rangers’ first corner of the game but that was pretty much all he offered. Cautioned for a mistimed challenge of Mooy on 50 minutes. Should’ve been subbed earlier than he was. 4
Malik Tillman: Started brightly enough but was clattered twice early on and it seemed to affect his game from then on. Got to the byline and cut the ball back in Rangers first real threatening period and did well when he strode forward minutes into the second half before teeing up Kent who saw an effort strike the post but he never offered a great deal in an attacking sense. 5
Fashion Sakala: Took up good positions but lacked cutting edge in his final delivery, as we’ve come to expect from the Zambian, unfortunately. Fired into the side netting from an acute angle after Kent struck the post at the start of the second half. Caught offside on too many occasions. 5
Ryan Kent: Blazed a shot into row Z on 14 minutes and did likewise 25 minutes later when he cut in on his left side after a brilliant take but his effort was poor. Saw an effort cannon off the post following a Rangers breakaway at the start of the second half. Always looking to create and cause Celtic problems but, like many, it just wasn't his day. 6
Alfredo Morelos: Won the ball on the halfway line to spark a Rangers attack on 10 minutes but apart from winning a couple of fouls, he was often feeding off scraps and cut a frustrated figure at times. Breathed life into a potential Rangers comeback with a strike from close range before being replaced by Colak. 6
Substitutes
Ryan Jack: Replaced Lundstram. Burst into the box before cutting back and firing a shot on goal only for it to be blocked as Rangers piled the pressure on Celtic. 5
Nico Raskin: Replaced Kamara and almost immediately Rangers looked much improved in the engine room. Provided an energy and intensity that was lacking previously. 6
Todd Cantwell: Replaced Tillman and won a free kick in a promising position shortly after. Both he and Raskin will feel rightly aggrieved not to start the game. 5
Antonio Colak: Replaced Morelos but had little in the way of service. 3
Scott Wright: Replaced Sakala late on. 2
