Nice star Badredine Bouanani revealed their players were 'disgusted' at being hammered by Rangers and refused to use their lengthy injury list as an excuse.

Rangers romped to a stunning 4-1 Europa League victory in the south of France against the high-flying Ligue 1 club.

The French club's manager Franck Haise complained after the game that they couldn't cope with Rangers because they had 12 players out through injury.

But 19-year-old talent Bouanani, who grabbed a late consolation for the hosts with a stunning free kick, reckons they should still have done better.

He admitted: "We are all really disgusted with that performance.

"We played a very bad match and we gave Rangers a lot of gifts for the goals. It's definitely a match to forget for us.

"We would like to apologise to the supporters of the club.

"But need to lift ourselves for our next match against Lyon this weekend.

"Can we put this defeat down to the absent injured players? No. We can't use that as an excuse because we have a big squad.

and I think we have a quality group. And it is also up to the replacements to do better."
