PAUL GASCOIGNE'S management team have been forced to explain an incident that occurred at Ibrox during the Rangers legends vs World legends clash on Saturday.
Ahead of the contest Gazza invited a young fan onto the pitch and playfully tripped him up during the warm-up.
Now Gascoigne's management team have revealed that the boy involved was in fact his agent's son after some news outlets suggested otherwise.
They wrote in a statement: "M&N Management would like to make a correction on recent statements made by the papers.
"The 'young fan' who was 'tripped up' by Gazza at the weekend during the Rangers vs World XI game was in fact his agent's son.
"The two are constantly playing practical jokes on one another and play fighting.
"We confirm that no harm was caused."
Gazza was in fine form on Saturday and netted a goal for the Gers legends in the second half of the Ibrox contest that was played to mark the club's 150th anniversary.
Goals from Carlos Marchena, Nuno Gomes and Ricardo Quaresma cancelled out Shota Arveladze's opener before Gascoigne got on the scoresheet with the final kick of the game.
A bumper crowd of more than 38,000 turned out to welcome heroes of yesteryear to Ibrox as the likes of Alan Hutton, Ronald de Boer and Kaka also rolled back the years.
