TALKSPORT have revealed that Ally McCoist jetted off to Portugal following Rangers' defeat to Celtic yesterday as they explained the Ibrox legend's absence from the morning breakfast show.
McCoist usually appears alongside Laura Woods on a Monday, but this morning it was Ray Parlour in the hotseat.
The Arsenal legend reacted to Celtic's win over Rangers yesterday at Ibrox and admitted he could not take his eyes off the feisty affair.
He said: "It was fantastic. The intensity, the tackles flying in, it was a proper football game.
"Rangers were a little bit unlucky not to get anything out the game, because they were pushing.
"But Celtic defended so well in the second half, that was a great game."
Speaking yesterday, McCoist slammed an incident where a fan lobbed a broken glass bottle onto the Ibrox surface.
He said: "That [embarrassing] is exactly what it is. You keep thinking nothing will ever surprise you anymore but dear me. Honestly? Absolute gross stupidity."
