RANGERS boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has detailed his reasoning for bringing Amad Diallo into his starting XI against Motherwell today.
The young attacker has barely featured in the Gers team since his January loan move from Manchester United.
But he's in from the start at Fir Park this lunchtime in the absence of Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent.
And van Bronckhorst has refuted that some of his team selections for today's game are risky.
He told Sky Sports: "I don't think it's a gamble. We have a big squad.
"This week as assessed how the players were physically. It's almost the same team we ended the game against Celtic with last week.
"It's also looking a little bit ahead, but I have confidence in all of the players.
"If you look at the team, they are all experienced. I don't think it's a gamble."
Diallo's Rangers' career has never really got off the ground - despite a debut goal against Ross County back in January.
And van Bronckhorst had these words of encouragement for the United loanee.
He said: "He has talent. He came in during the winter break - he's had some good and not so good moments.
"He's kept training hard and now we're giving him the chance to play.
"In training he's looked good, so hopefully he can extend that in the games."
