BRIGHTON have agreed a £10million fee with Chelsea for midfielder Billy Gilmour.
The Seagulls have been linked with the former Rangers kid throughout the transfer window with a loan looking the most likely option.
But a £10million deal has now been agreed between both Premier League clubs to make the transfer permanent.
Gilmour is currently going through a medical at the Amex Stadium, and barring any issues, he will be a Brighton player by the end of the window tonight.
Rangers will likely benefit from a sell-on fee after agreeing on a clause in his initial deal when he switched to Chelsea.
Rangers and Scotland hero Ally McCoist now reckons a move to the Amex Stadium will be a much better fit for the youngster.
He told talkSPORT: "That kind of move really appeals to me for the wee man.
"I know he didn't hit it off at Norwich and I know a lot of fans weren't too happy with that particular signing.
"I don't know if Gilmour was suited to going into a team that was struggling and fighting for survival and didn't have possession of the football.
"Brighton are doing fantastically well, good to watch and I just think that'd be a good move.
"That move excites me - I think it'd be a good move for Billy Gilmour."
