Rangers' discussions with prospective signings this summer are progressing well.

That's the message from the club's new CEO James Bisgrove, who hinted that announcements could be made soon.

Michael Beale has made no secret of the immense amount of changes to his first-team squad needed at Ibrox this pre-season.

With the 2022/23 campaign nearly over, attention off the field have turned to recruiting new players for next season, as well as addressing those players who will agree to new terms, or leave at the end of the contracts.

It's believed that the likes of Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell, and Dujon Sterling are close to becoming Rangers players. 

And Bisgrove admits there will be updates for fans to read about soon.

But the chief executive insists supporters must also be mindful of the importance of the club's trading model, with some players likely to be sold this summer if the deal is right.

He told Rangers TV: "The manager has spoken about this summer being quite a transformative one for this squad. 

"He's also presented a very clear plan which is a body of work that's taken place across many months led by John Park, our chief scout, from a recruitment point of view. 

"He's presented the plan for what he wants the squad to look like next season.

"That plan is fully supported by the board and we are reasonably well advanced in a number of discussions that will underpin that plan in terms of player recruitment. 

"I think there will be some updates and announcements on that in due time. 

"The plan that Michael has presented to the board is a really, really exciting one in terms of the transformation of the team and what he wants to put on the park for next season. 

"We need to recognise that player recruitment is never a linear process, there are various discussions and negotiations that are taking place but we are ahead of the game in now engaging in some of those conversations. 

"Whilst the focus this summer will absolutely be on recruitment, bringing players in, we will also have an eye on players trading out because that is important to the model. 

"There are individuals, clubs that we are speaking to that may mean there are players that supporters see coming in but also going out. We will always only take those decisions in the best interests of the club. 

"Ultimately, this is all about Michael's plan for next season. As I said, he has the full support from the board in delivering on that."
