Rangers are set to land a sell-on fee with former youngster Dire Mebude nearing a transfer exit from Manchester City.
The 21-year-old moved to City’s academy three years ago and went on to become a key member of the youth side at the Etihad as they won the league for three consecutive seasons.
Mebude's form has caught the eye and he is now set to sign for Belgian club Westerlo in a deal worth up to £1.65m.
Rangers will land a 15 per cent sell-on fee of the final transfer deal, which will further add to Michael Beale's summer budget.
The Ibrox club are set to confirm the signings of Danilo and Jose Cifuentes in the coming days as Beale bolsters his attacking options.
The Ibrox boss has significantly overhauled his ranks in recent weeks as the likes of Jack Butland, Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers have put pen-to-paper with the Light Blues.
Now Danilo and Cifuentes are set to complete their own switches as the Ibrox board continue to back Beale in the transfer market this summer.
Striker Danilo will cost more than £5million when he competes a move from Feyenoord and an agreement has also been reached that will allow Cifuentes to arrive from Los Angeles FC after contract terms were previously agreed.
