Ex-Rangers defender Nikola Katic looks set for a surprise move to Serie A just a year after quitting the Ibrox club with Verona closing in on him.
The Croatian defender enjoyed a fine season with FC Zurich after quitting Ibrox for a nominal fee last summer to move to Switzerland following a loan spell with Hajduk Split.
And he's been lined up for a move to Italian football where he could link up with former Hibs star Josh Doig at Verona.
Katic made a total of 59 appearances for Rangers since signing in a £2 million deal from Slaven Belupo in 2018 on a four year contract, which was extended after just one year under previous boss Steven Gerrard.
But he was frozen out at Ibrox and eventually signed a three-year deal at Zurich last August.
The 26-year-old has already played four games in the Swiss League this season and netted on the opening day of the season against Yverdon Sport.
And he has been targeted by Verona boss Marco Baroni to move to Serie A, with his club kicking off their league campaign tomorrow against Empoli.

Meanwhile, Dick Advocaat reckons PSV Eindhoven will be too strong for his former club Rangers...because he believes they have got rid of their best players.
The 75-year-old finally retired at the end of last season after previously coming out of retirement on four occasions. He resigned as Den Haag manager - his 25th and final job in football.
Advocaat was a big-spending Rangers manager from 1998 to 2002, where he famously splashed out a record £12 million on striker Tore Andre Flo.
