Kenny Miller has warned Rangers fans to be 'careful' what they wish for regarding Michael Beale's future.
The Englishman is on the brink of losing his job at Ibrox after a shocking 3-1 defeat at home to Aberdeen yesterday.
That result saw the Light Blues fall seven points behind Celtic in the Premiership.
With three domestic losses already recorded so far this term, and an early exit from the Champions League thrown into the mix, fans have become incredibly unsettled with the team under Beale's stewardship.
While a large portion of them would like to see Beale removed from his position, Miller believes sacking a manager is not always the best solution.
Instead, the former Gers striker has suggested Beale be afforded some more time to turn things around.
He wrote in his Sunday Mail column: "In Rangers fans’ eyes Michael Beale is now scrambling to keep his job as manager. Whether the people who run the club feel the same way, is the question after yesterday’s defeat to Aberdeen.
"His team has now lost three of their first seven Premiership games. Their two biggest rivals – Celtic and Aberdeen – have now both won at Ibrox. And that has left supporters convinced that Rangers won’t be winning the title this season.
"So the guys in the boardroom have to decide whether they’re going to show calmness now. Michael has always said that they’re aligned in where they’re going and how they will get there. Does that still apply after yesterday?
"It’s absolutely right that Michael is under serious pressure now. That’s the job he signed up for. It comes with the territory. But do they get rid of him now? I’m not so sure. And this isn’t me protecting the manager, far from it.
"Rangers have only had 18 managers in their history. Yet in the last eight years, they’ve had FIVE. Do they really want to make that six? We’re probably close to that situation now. But I don’t believe sacking the manager is always the right answer.
"My question to the people saying he’s rubbish and needs to go is ‘Who comes in next?’ Because they’ll have to work with a group of players who have been signed but, at the moment, don’t look good enough.

"So for those saying he has to go, I’d say be careful. The other option is to give him more time to work with the players HE has signed. I’m not saying it will get better. But I don’t believe in constantly sacking managers. I know the buck always stops with him. That’s the game we’re in.
"But at what point do players have to take some responsibility? I watched them yesterday after going behind to Dons. They needed to show some balls, courage, some character. But it didn’t happen.
"By the way, the first half hour was probably the best I’ve seen Rangers play in recent weeks. But when you don’t take chances, it will come back to bite you. And that’s when players have to show what they’re made of."
