Former Rangers and Motherwell midfielder Jake Hastie is set to complete a move to Hamilton Accies.
The 24-year-old has recently been playing his football in the National League in England with Hartlepool.
Hastie now looks set to complete a loan move back to Scotland though with Accies keen to take the winger for the remainder of the season.
The loan move could also be made permanent come the end of the season, with Hastie out of contract in the summer.
On his recent lack of game time at Hartlepool, Hastie told BBC Teeside in November: "It’s a weird one because you work hard all week and then you’ve got nothing to show for it on a Saturday.
"It’s about trying to get it into your head that if I keep doing this then eventually you’re going to get an opportunity, and if I keep doing it consistently when the opportunity does come up I’ll be ready for it.
"I’ve been working hard since pre-season, I had a good pre-season, and I’ve been feeling really fit and really sharp and I’ve kept working away – the gaffer has told me to keep working hard and I’ve got my chance.
“I’ve gradually got sharper in games and I’m starting to find my feet more.”
Former Motherwell academy graduate Hastie moved to Rangers from Fir Park in a £350,000 deal back in 2020.
