Philippe Clement was uninterested in a reporter's line of questioning relating to Celtic after Rangers' 3-1 win over Ross County this evening.

Cyriel Dessers bagged a double, while John Souttar netted in stoppage time at the end fo add some gloss to the scoreline.

The result moves the Ibrox club level on points with Celtic at the top of the Premiership, however, they were just one goal shy of overtaking their arch-Glasgow rivals at the summit.

Speaking to BBC post-match, their reporter embarked on a long-winded question about being back on level terms with Brendan Rodgers' side in the league, something Clement was keen to shut down.

"It's a long question, but it will be a short answer," the 49-year-old warned. "I'm not busy with Celtic, I'm busy with Rangers.

"To make this team better, to take as many points as possible with this team, to win as many trophies as possible with this team now and in the future. To let the team and club grow. We're only busy with that.

"So, we'll only focus on ourselves. We're the only team still in three competitions. We're proud about that and we're going to fight hard for that."

The game really could have been won by a more comfortable margin by the hosts. Rangers registered a whopping 23 shots on target, but a combination of George Wickens in the County goal, bad luck and poor finishing kept the scoreline at a respectable level.

Clement was happy with his side's performance. He reflected: "It was a really good game from my team. I think every person who was in the stadium today compared to four months ago will see a huge difference. Everybody is involved, and everybody made wave after wave of attack, but the defence also did really well. 

"This could have been a night with many more goals, but you need a little bit of luck. On the other side was a goalkeeper would play maybe the game of his life. He made a few really good saves and also sometimes when luck was on his side. 

"We need to continue what we've been doing and that's the most important thing. We want to keep creating chances and that attacking football everyone loves to see.

"The mentality of the team, our hunger, desire, the resilience to never stop and always want more. I want to see that ambition in my team, and I want to see it over the next couple of months, game after game. 

"We don't have egos, we don't have players who want to be the star themselves. It's a really good collective, and that's our style.

"It was not about the top spot. It was feeling the momentum there to score more goals.

"There are still a lot of games to go. We need to focus on ourselves and not on how many goals other teams do or don't have. That's what we're going to do.

Clement was booked in the final moments of the match by referee Alan Muir after a waterbottle was sent flying along the touchline. 

The Belgian revealed he said sorry to the official after the game for his angry outburst.

Asked if he was annoyed with the decision, he said: "No. I was maybe moaning a little bit too much. I was frustrated about a few moments when I wanted to keep the tempo of the game. They [County] could stop it without getting booked. I apologised after to the referee. I'm also a human being."
