Philippe Clement has branded Rangers' comeback victory over Kilmarnock as "massive".

The Ibrox boss admitted the three points in Ayrshire could be looked back upon as a major moment in the context of the Scottish Premiership title race.

Rangers' victory kept the club top of the league table with a two-point gap over Celtic - who won 7-1 against Dundee.

Asked how important the win at Rugby Park was, Clement told BBC Scotland: "It's a massive one because we knew this was a hard place to go to.

"All credit to Kilmarnock they had a series of 14 games where they were only beaten one time and that was against us at Ibrox.

"You know the circumstances are difficult to play the football we want to play, so it's a massive one to win this game and also to win this game with this great mentality that all the players showed. Players who started and players who came in."

And quizzed on the statement sent out by his side with the comeback triumph, Clement said: "That our team has a lot of resilience even when the circumstances don't go your way. 

"When you get a penalty against in the beginning of the game and Kilmarnock can play their favourite game to sit and wait for our mistakes, and then reacting like this in the second half is major.

"I think at the end of the road this is going to be a massive three points."

One potential concern for Rangers did come as Oscar Cortes was forced off in the second half with a possible hamstring issue as he clutched his leg heading up the tunnel.

"Not yet," said Clement on whether there was any update on the winger's condition. 

"We need to make that assessment tomorrow or the day after to make really good choices - we have a lot of games.

"We will see if he was tired or if it was more. We need to see."
