Philippe Clement described Rangers' win at Rugby Park last night as 'massive'. 

And come the end of May, it could well be that when the title race is decided.

Kilmarnock had won all three previous home matches against the Old Firm this season - twice against Celtic, and once against Rangers.

Derek McInnes' team could well prove kingmakers in the fate of the Premiership crown given their impressive record against both teams.

Killie are close to securing their top six place, so one of the sides will be due another visit to Rugby Park post-split.

Rangers' loss in Ayrshire came on the opening day of the season on a roasting hot August evening. Brad Lyons scored after 65 minutes to put Michael Beale's side to the sword.

While the match was closely contested, nobody really argued that the points weren't deservedly earned by the hosts on the day, with Rangers fans upset at what their team had produced.

One of the major criticisms of the players, and Beale, on that occasion, was the lack of urgency shown at various moments throughout. 

A clip was posted online at the time showing John Lundstram waiting for James Tavernier to run across the pitch to take a throw-in deep in Killie's half, only for the ball to end up back at Jack Butland within a couple of passes.

The frustrations of the 'nonsense' incident were highlighted by supporters given the delay and overall lack of pace from the players to get on with the game as they chased a goal.

However, seven months on, that certainly cannot be labeled at the team now.

While not totally comparable, with the incidents in question happening on opposite sides of the pitch, fresh footage has emerged from last night's match in the build-up to Rangers' winner, which was scored by Tom Lawrence. 

With the ball out on the touchline at the away dugout, Clement urged his team on as he rapidly got the ball back to Cyriel Dessers to take a shy as quickly as he could to maintain pressure on Killie's backline, not allowing them time to organise.

This paid dividends just seconds later, with the ball fired into the back of the net with a pinpoint strike by Lawrence to send the packed of Chadwick Stand wild.
