Simon Jordan has been branded a 'nasty piece of work' by Rangers and Scotland legend Graeme Souness.
The 70-year-old made the remark after a discussion surrounding the Scotland national team and this summer's European championships in Germany.
Steve Clarke's side suffered a hefty 4-0 defeat in the Netherlands on Friday night, although, the performance provided plenty of optimism ahead of the tournament.
Souness explained on talkSPORT this morning that the Scots simply cannot go toe-to-toe with the world's best in football, but that with a plan, they could give any team a decent game.
But ex-Crystal Palace owner Jordan interjected. While he branded Scotland's first Euro 2024 opponents Germany 'rubbish,' he believes they will 'pull Scotland's pants down'.
Souness started the conversation: "Scotland don’t have the same quality as England. They have to try to nick games with a set piece or counter attack. Scotland can’t take the best teams on in a game of football. They have to come up with a plan.
"Scotland are a nation with less than five million people now, for us to be there is a right result and I felt that as a player as well. The expectation level will be enormous and you should forever be an optimist. It will be difficult but not impossible to go and win games 1-0, 2-0.
"Scott McTominay is the top scorer in our qualifying group and we’re missing an out-and-out goalscorer. In the past we’ve been very workmanlike under Steve Clarke and we’ve got by. We won’t turn up and bash teams up. Anything is possible in football.
"With the group of players they have, and some of them are very good and playing in the Premier League, can do a job on teams. They can nick a draw in the first game and win the other two. But we need a plan.”
As Jordan was ready to have his input, Souness remarked: “You’re a nasty piece of work.”
But Jordan responded: “I’m about to defend the Scots. The only reason I ever say anything about the Scots is because I sit in a studio with Jim (White) he says if England win a tournament it will be the worst day of his life so I have to defend that.
"But how can you draw any parallel between playing the French, Spanish and Dutch away - these are top, top sides.

"You play the Norwegians and get a 3-3 draw and Georgia a 2-2 draw. So these are sides in and around Scotland so they go to the Euros in decent nick and having been taught some lessons. England were a better side than them.
“When you go to Germany and metaphorically get your pants pulled down then I’ll be able to turn around and say ‘enjoy the ride because the journey’s not going to take you very far’. The Germans are rubbish. Michael Ballack told me last week they were a poor side. The France result was fantastic but one swallow doesn’t make a summer. In recent times the Germans have been a really poor side. Then you’ve got the Swiss and Hungarians who are no great shakes.
“Steve Clarke has done a pretty good job for Scotland and there were times post-Euro 2020 where people were calling for his head - you were calling for a national holiday from a 0-0 draw against England - but he’s done a really good job and the Scotland team embody a lot of characteristics I’d like to see in the England team - a bit more backbone.”
Jordan asked Souness: “Did you see that 4-0 spanking coming?”
Souness replied: “Take that smirk off your face.”
