Philippe Clement has broken his silence on Dujon Sterling's frank Rangers assessment.
The Ibrox utility player admitted 'we've been s***' in an interview after the stalemate at Dundee just days after defeat to Ross County.
Now, Clement has been quizzed on his feelings over the comments with the Rangers manager suggesting Sterling's comments were down to inexperience before backing his player.
Revealing he had only just heard of Sterling's comments, Clement responded: "Nick has just told me because I don't read everything.
"It's words of a player who is disappointed because we lost points, who maybe lacks a little bit of experience in that way.
"If I see Virgil van Dijk giving a press interview yesterday after the game it is totally different and that's the way it should be.
"Those are things for young players to learn and become better in that it is more talking out of the frustration.

"But I know we can count on Dujon on the field, what he's done the last couple of months, the moments he was fit.
"That's also not been the case enough for me. We will work with him on that also."
A passionate Sterling had said after the draw at Dundee: "We owe ourselves a performance as well because we have been s*** the past three games. I think we need to reset and do it for the fans as well because they have come home and away, backing us, singing for 90 minutes and we owe it to them.
"Obviously I understand why the fans are angry after the game but hopefully they can still back us for the rest of the game and still push us on.
“The past two weeks have featured disappointing results and I know they [the fans] have seen it before over the past years. Hopefully, we can change that but we will see."
