Ally McCoist has delivered his honest view of Joe Wright's red card against Rangers on Sunday afternoon.
The Kilmarnock centre-back was shown a straight red following a VAR review at the pitchside monitor by referee David Dickinson.
He was adjudged to have blocked the ball from going into the net with his hand, and so, as well as a penalty being awarded to the hosts at Ibrox, Derek McInnes' side were reduced to 10 men.
While McCoist is convinced that the officials followed the letter of the law down to the last letter in this instance, he concedes that the double jeopardy element is something he'd rather not see in the game.
Speaking on talkSPORT this morning alongside Celtic-daft Alan Brazil, ex-Gers striker McCoist insists he can look at the needs for the greater good of the game, even if his own team benefitted here.
He said: “I saw the game at the weekend. The Killie boy, the handball was really, really harsh. It’s a definite penalty but to get sent off as well was kind of double jeopardy.
"It’s probably the letter of the law but I think it’s very harsh. I don’t look at it through blinkers. I can open my eyes and see it for what it is.”
