Hibernian midfielder Joe Newell has lifted the lid on the time he nearly joined Rangers.
The 31-year-old has told Talking Transitions that he had an offer on the table from the Ibrox club during the budding days of his career.
As a youth player, after leaving Birmingham in 2009, the midfielder has two options - Rangers or Peterborough.
The Hibs player - who has been at Easter Road since 2019 - plucked for the latter because of its location.
However, he has opened up on the 'f*****g ridiculous' offer from Rangers, which would've seen a significant jump in wages had he chosen to join the Ibrox club.
"It was either Rangers or Peterborough," he told the podcast. "They both offered. Rangers offered their standard youth team wage.
"So, I signed for Peterborough because it was an hour and a half down the road.
"I was on £55 a week at Peterborough, and Rangers had offered me like £300 per week.
"At 16, I never even got pocket money as a kid so that was f*****g ridiculous."
Newell has made 185 appearances for Hibs. He's scored ten times and has 34 assists to his name.
He's contracted to the Edinburgh club until the summer of 2025.

Meanwhile, the deals for Rangers pair John Lundstram and Borna Barisic to join Trabzonspor have reached the 'completion stage'.
That's according to Ertugrul Dogan, one of the Turkish club's chiefs.
The Gers duo have been in talks with the eastern European side for some weeks now, with rumours previously suggesting that offers had been accepted by both players.
Philippe Clement, while admitting that they did have deals on the table elsewhere, insists that both remain committed to Rangers and that he was unaware of anything being finalised.
Now though, it appears both of their big money moves to Turkey have been signed and sealed.
