Steven Gerrard has pleaded with fans online to get hold of a picture frame containing the lyrics to a famous Rangers song.

The photo shows the lyrics to the tune 'The Blue Sea of Ibrox'.

Gerrard shared the frame on his Instagram story earlier this afternoon. 

He captioned it: "I need this picture". The Liverpool legend accompanied his words with a Union Jack flag emoji.

Gerrard, 44, managed Rangers between 2018 and 2021. During his three-and-a-half-year stint as head coach, he won the Scottish Premiership title once.

He stopped Celtic from winning ten in a row by doing so, as the Ibrox club claimed their 55th league title in their history. 

His side romped to the title, winning it in early March and ended the season on 102 points without losing a single match.

It was the only trophy of the former England captain's first job in management. 

He was head-hunted to join Aston Villa in November 2021, as the lure of the Premier League proved too good an opportunity to turn down. 

Gerrard last just under a year at Villa Park before he was sacked and replaced by Unai Emery, who remains in position now. 

After a break from the game, the ex-Rangers boss joined the Saudi football revolution in the summer of 2023, becoming one of a host of major names to move out to the Middle East. 

He was appointed as the manager of Al-Ettifaq on July 3 last year, and is still there now with his contract due to expire in 2027.

The experienced operator - who is now running a German football agency - appeared on Go Radio's Football Show to discuss the position as Rangers look to replace James Bisgrove. St Mirren vice-chairman Jim Gillespie is thought to be the frontrunner for the job.
