Rangers announce full stand tifo for Lyon Europa League tie

A club update has stated a major display will be staged in the Copland Road Stand ahead of the league phase contest on Thursday night. 

The Copland Road Stand will be fully open for the European tie after construction works were concluded.

And the tifo will be displayed over the full stand as a capacity crowd returns to Ibrox for the European fixture after early matches in Champions League qualifying were held at Hampden.

Rangers supporters have regularly staged major displays in the Broomloan Stand on European nights.

A club statement read: "There will be a full stand TIFO in the Copland Road Stand.

"All supporters in that area are invited to take part and create another spectacular Ibrox visual ahead of the players leaving the tunnel with the display ending ahead of kick-off."

Meanwhile, Ianis Hagi is back in first-team training at Rangers but won't be involved against Lyon due to not being registered in the Europa League squad.

The midfielder had been playing with the Ibrox B team but has rejoined the first-team after a resolution was found over a contract issue.

 "That it was a contract issue from before my time so the issue is solved," said Philippe Clement of Hagi returning to training. "Both parties, the club and Hagi, came together and now it is resolved.

"It’s normal he is back in the squad training and it’s getting him back to his best level, that’s the job to do.

"He has behaved all the time well, our contact was good all the time. There was never a problem between us, we met a lot in the building.

"He did everything you’d expect from a professional player. In those situations, it is not always the case but he has been an example in that way for sure."
