As announced this morning (Monday), the next Rangers CEO is Patrick Stewart.
The former interim Manchester United chief executive fills the vacancy left behind by James Bisgrove – who departed Glasgow for Saudi Arabia in the summer – and now sports broadcaster Jim White has shared an insight into the appointment.
As posted on X (formerly Twitter), White said: "On new @RangersFC CEO Patrick Stewart, a top club source tells me: 'He has tremendous breadth of experience at a PL club… - @ManUtd. 'He is a strong character, Scottish and a really exciting appointment.'"

Speaking on the appointment, interim Chairman John Gilligan said: “On behalf of the board, I’m delighted to welcome Patrick to the club as CEO.
“Patrick comes with an excellent reputation and background, bringing extensive experience of operating at senior levels during his 20-plus years in football.
“The board continues in discussions with several excellent candidates for the role of Chairperson and expect to make an announcement of an appointment in the coming weeks.”
